No, it wasn't MadCap being ridiculous. MadCap, like all companies, has
limited resources. If 200 people ask for a feature, that gets more weight
than a feature 5 people asked for.

I work for them part time right now and hopefully will go back full time
again in the future (soon, I hope!). But we always encourage people to make
feature requests and we take those seriously.

Yeah, but I'm doing it intentionally. (Hi, World!)

"Feedback invisibly tracks what the users are doing in the help." It
doesn't track anything personal about them, it just aggregates their
activities for the purpose of improving the documentation.

Let's say that any *reasonable* user would be pleased to participate in
this anonymous activity. It adds value to the documentation that they're
already using -- great!

Let's say (hypothetically!) that some of us create documentation for
users who are not totally, completely, 100% reasonable all of the time.
For those users' benefit, it would be useful if Feedback had an easy
opt-out.

It was one of MadCap's own MVPs who wrote, "We submitted a feature
request for this back a few months ago, but it couldn't hurt to have
more requests." Was that MadCap MVP being ridiculous?
