Place your cursor in the place you wish to see the hyperlinked
cross-reference. Click on the Reference tab, and choose Cross-reference from
the Caption group. In the Cross-reference dialog box, change the Reference
type to Heading, and select the heading you wish to insert as a
cross-reference from the For which heading: box. You'll note that by default
the Insert as hyperlink checkbox is selected.

This inserts a Ref field that will reflect the heading text. You can also
use this dialog to add a page reference if you wish. These fields can be
updated to reflect the current content of the heading by selecting your
document (or the link) and pressing F9. It is important when editing the
heading in question to not delete it and replace it as this will remove the
hidden automatically generated bookmark that creates the cross-reference
(causing an Error! Reference source not found. Message). Place you cursor in
the heading and add text and delete unwanted text. Be careful not to insert
a paragraph in front of the heading by placing your cursor to the left of
the heading and pressing Enter, as this will extend the cross-reference
towards the front of the document. This is especially troublesome when
pasting text containing paragraph breaks to the beginning of the heading
paragraph.

Maybe I missed the right command. The help was no help and Google turned up
instructions for hyperlinks.

Where is the cross-reference command?
