Well, that's one possibility, based on the x-ref settings and defaults.
But there are many switches besides \h (hyperlink) that you can add.

In the Word help file, go to Field codes > Insert and format field codes
in Word. Click Show All on the right and keep reading. In particular,
see "Apply text formatting to a field" and "Add a formatting switch to a
field code" about half-way down.

BTW, in my installation (Office 2007, Win XP), the search in Word's help
seems seriously broken. It doesn't even find words that are in the TOC,
much less words in the text. What's up with that?
