The Windows Character Map app is a *very* effective tool for looking at issues such as this. A quick browse through some of the fonts installed on my system reveal the following contenders for body text typefaces with the clear at-a-glance distinctions you seek.
Serif typefaces with good distinction between lower-case "L" and numeral "1" (the usual problem area):
Baskerville Old Face
Book Antiqua
Garamond
ITC Officina Serif
Palatino
Sans serif and modern typefaces with clear distinction among all three characters:
Comic Sans (don't laugh...)
ITC Officina Sans
Lucida Console
Lucida Sans Typewriter
Tahoma
Verdana
