Thanks, Jan. Yes, I'm in Visio 2007, working with drawings that were
probably prepared using Visio 2003. That tip about File > Shapes > Show
Document Stencil did not work for this drawing I copied from a Word doc
and pasted into a brand new .vsd file. All I got was an empty stencil.
Maybe it has to do with the way the software developer created the
drawing, or maybe it is a 2003/2007 issue.

BUT, whilst right-clicking a shape in the drawing, I did find the Find
Similar Shapes menu item!

Now, when it shows me a (huge) list of "similar shapes", I see shapes with
names like "Entity 1", "Entity 1.122", "Entity 2", "Entity 2.123". Where
do I turn to learn what the respective attributes/differences are among
the "similar shapes"? Those names look to be systematic, but how do I get
acquainted with the system?
