The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Yes, they are definitely enthusiasts and developers, but I've been
reading the Lifehacker blog (which these folks write) for years and
haven't found the writing too dense. But I haven't scanned this text yet
beyond a quick read of the first chapter.
I do think that Wave *could* really help in documentation reviews,
though. Throw the text into a Wave, and it doesn't matter that the SMEs
don't have FrameMaker/Acrobat Pro. But that is for another thread...

Wow. Thanks for sending this on, Mike. Will be interesting to scan, at
least.
This seems to have been written by enthusiasts/developers rather than
tech writers.
Looks like there's going to be a need for tech writers for a
LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time, judging by this. :)
Man, I don't know about you, but I would just *dread* confronting a
manual like this. I sort of get the feeling that the product is
exciting but you kind of can't tell it from this doc.
