Oh you are definitely not alone on this one. I am finishing up a contract now and when it first came out I had at least ten recruiters call me about it. They all acted like going with them guaranteed me the job!
I just love the outsourced recruiters who call from other countries far, far away. My favorite was the recruiter who INSISTED that Maryland was not that far from Indianapolis, Indiana. He just throught I was terrible because I did not want to commute to Indiana EVERY day! He told me he looked on a map and Indiana and Maryland were "not that far from each other". :) I soon learned to let the answering machine pick up all calls from recruiters before I did!
