TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
There is really no work around that will make up for the lack of a
native-reading reviewer who is knowledgeable about the subject matter. If you
really have nobody you can tap from your overseas marketing, sales or customer
service (and do you really expect to sell much product over there if you don't
have these people?), then try your customers. If you have customer service
records or any kind of a user forum, see if there's some customer in the target
country who seems to know the stuff and isn't bashful about asking questions or
making comments, and get your management to cut loose some free or discounted
product in exchange for being a document reviewer.
