Hey, Kev,

1. Xplorer2, www.zabkat.com, because it's blazingly fast and handles
more bells and whistles than I've even figured out yet after using it
for a few years. I can search subfolders, archived content, locally,
filtering, text-based, rule-based, case-sensitive, verbatim, etc. I can
save, organize, and repeat searches in scrap folders and the like.
Immmensely superior to Windows Explorer in every way -- for searching
and as a sophisticated, user-friendly file management and navigation
system. Check out the web site and the docs there; they'll tell you far
more than I can. I'm just a happy paying customer -- no ties to product.
Free version is very, very good. Paid is much better.

2. Windows (Desktop) Search -- My favorite before xplorer2. Doesn't take
up an unseemly amount of indexing space. Still very good for
quick-and-dirty Boolean and the like.

Jim

Hey all.

On your Windows PC, what is your favorite way to find files containing a
given text string?

Why? (Pros/Cons)

Thanks,
