RE: Good font combination story

OK, according to the slightly-less-than-scientific 
survey that is my inbox, we have a handful of font 
whisperers on the list and... the rest of us. 

Pretty much what I suspected. 



Even when this company was tiny (35 people when I 
joined) we had a corporate standard font, and I 
just grabbed it and ran - we didn't do WebHelp in 
those days, so the fonts saw actual use in books.

Since then, through a few rounds of being bought 
by bigger companies, the mandated font selections 
have changed a few times. I just say "Fine. Buy it 
for me, or I'm using Helvetica."  But mostly, as 
somebody pointed out, since the bulk of my documentation 
is now WebHelp, the font-selection is determined by 
outside forces (what people's browsers support, in 
various operating systems).
