Personally, I am usually for hewing to the KISS principle.

Since the instructions will ship with one or the other product and not
both, why not something simpler that finesses the problem and saves
space to boot:

"Insert the Lumpy Toolkit CD."

It would be darned difficult to mistake which CD is meant and the
results would be appropriate for users of either product.

You also avoid the unnecessary complexity of both the original suggestions.
