Is not your own voice or that of one of your colleagues good enough?

The best studio now available for the amateur is an automobile with the
windows closed. If you must run to AC for sanity in your geographical
area, borrow some huge and quiet car that is far more expensive than any
TW could afford. (*)

Practise enunciating clearly beforehand, know what you are going to say,
do several "takes", and keep your microphone close to but not in front
of your mouth. Too close and you'll pop your pees and hiss your esses.
Listen to your result, and have someone else listen. Do it over until it
is right.

(*) Old Rolls Royce advertisement: "At 60 MPH all you can hear is the
[ticking of the] clock." So at a RR board meeting, the chairman says,
"Gentlemen, we must do something about that confounded clock!"
