Hi Ken,
Open Frame 8 and do Help > Updates, make sure you update to the absolute
latest. (You might have to do this several times, which means close and
reopen Frame until the Help > Updates action pops a message that there
are no further updates.)
Also do the same with Acrobat 8 or whatever you're using to generate
PDFs from Frame (even via print to Adobe PDF printer).
I don't know if this is related but there was a known glitch between
Frame and Acrobat. Solution was to update beyond the glitchy version.
Don't know if that will help but hope it does.
Good luck,
Steve

Subject: RE: no pd files from Frame. Help!
Hey Monique,
After trying multiple files, I closed out all open files, then closed
down FrameMaker (version 8, like I said earlier).
Waited a few seconds, then re-opened it and a file to try with no luck.
By the way, my normal procedure is to print to select my "adobe"
printer from the FrameMaker printer window (I never do a "Save as pdf").
I also know that I am supposed to uncheck the box for "Rely on system
fonts only . . ."
After clicking on "Print" in FrameMaker, I get the small progress
window alight, showing that something is happening, complete with the
succession of page numbers being printed.
But when I check the file directory, it shows the new ps file with 0
kb every time (since today about 3-ish).
I then closed out everything and powered down and waited and rebooted
and opened Frame and opened a file and yep, all the same results.
This time, though, I created a Word file, then -- like in Frame --
printed it via my "adobe printer" and voila! -- nice litle pdf created.
Neither of my co-workers have this problem, and we all got our stuff
around the same time.
In the meantime, I used the handy little "Archive" utility to get
this book in a folder on my thumb drive so I can get this done at
home over the weekend where Frame is also installed.
Any ideas?
