I think that's something I never knew before. I'll keep it in mind.

But most places I've ever dealt with usually specify they want a resume as a .doc file or as a text file.  Especially recruiting groups.  I think that's so they can reformat it easily for their purposes.

It's likely a difference in default printer drivers.  To work around that,
you could each set your default printer driver to Adobe PDF, and make sure
that you both set up your PDF printer to use the same .joboptions file.

(This is one reason, among many, why I always emphasize to people that they
should never send .doc/docx files as a resume -- the page breaks are
affected by whatever default printer driver the person who is opening the
.doc/docx file has.)
