That's where I keep the magnifier for my compact OED as well. However, I've also gone to the dollar store and loaded up on reading glasses that I leave littered around the house, car, jacket pocket and laptop bag. I also have a special pair of 4X reading glasses, a 10 lighted magnifier and a 10x loupe. Interestingly enough, for other than reading or very small work on projects around the house, I have no need of glasses for computer work, driving or daily living.
