*My* concern is about visual clarity. Take a look at this example from a sewing machine - http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8940/haret.png - unclear, indistinct silhouettes. Give that grandma Wilkins with poor eyesight and the tortoise/hare have turned into a... blob and a... kinda... elongated blob.
