Favs for this year:

Jing, since they sorted out the install behind a proxy server thing.
Adobe ROME before they killed it off, even though it had it's problems it
was still a pretty nice desktop layout too for the price.
Brain Rules isbn: 0-9797777-04

The there's my Droid and the apps for that:
Kindle for Android
Evernote
Barcode Scanner (can read just about any bar code and create QR codes for
just about anything on the phone to share with others.)
