I am not attending the conference and don't know where the conference hotel is, but I found that on previous visits that taxis at LAX have a fixed $20 fare to nearby hotels as opposed to hotel shuttles that are free or have a small charge.

I'll be attending the Writers UA Conference next week :-), and wondered if anyone would be interested in sharing a cab from LAX to the conference hotel?  I land at 5:15 PM, on United.  (Yes, I know about the shuttles, but if two of us share a cab it's basically the same price, and much quicker/more direct.)
