Hi Gina,

The process is pretty much the same (I have Win 7 and Word 2007, but Acrobat 9, which I doubt makes a difference, but perhaps, so I mention it).

From the Ribbon, select the Acrobat tab, and in the Create Adobe PDF
section, click Preferences. This will bring up the familiar Acrobat PDFMaker dialog box, complete with the Bookmarks tab where you can select Convert Word Styles to Bookmarks, or selectively select which styles you want to assign to which PDF bookmark level.

If the problem is that the Acrobat tab isn't even on the Ribbon, then it may be that the PDFMaker is disabled, from Word's perspective. (I've seen this with other users.) So you have to remove Adobe PDF from its Disabled Items list; here are instructions: http://decoding.wordpress.com/2006/11/26/adobe-acrobat-8-and-ms-office-2007/ -- scroll down the page until you find the entry by "Staeger" from Jan 21, 2008.
