Chris is right. Perhaps the biggest change in the job-search environment
since Becca was last there (in 2003) is the rise in importance of LinkedIn.
This business network (Facebook for Grownups) often succeeds in replicating
the traditional "who you know" Old Boys Network online.

Getting on LinkedIn is really worth doing. There are several
tech-writing-oriented discussion groups there; I think John Hedtke had a
list on his blog recently. I'll try to track that down.
