But what's the reason it's no longer supported?  If it's because something
new has been introduced that makes it obsolete, then the installer for the
new thing should find and delete whatever it's obsoleting.  Or, if the
obsolete app has a "check for updates" function, that should now take the
user to an uninstaller.
