RE: New words - where have you found them?

Depends what you mean by "new" words. 

For fancy words that are unfamiliar to me, I read work by the most articulate writers ...  sources include world-class newspapers like the NY Times or the Guardian; or master essayists with immense vocabularies like Lewis Lapham. 

If you actually mean "new" words, as in terms being created as the language evolves (ie trendy words like the aforementioned "metrosexual" or "planking" or anything related to the internet, new media etc), then I'd say the lifestyle and media sections of any major newspaper or print/online magazine (ie Salon).
