Re: Ball chairs and their kin
Needless to say, that would be horribly expensive and isn't
seen outside science-fiction movies, where the geeky sidekick
has that sort of arrangement from which to work his/her
miracles - and then gets killed off at the 2/3 mark of the film
so the hero can be motivated to wreak great vengeance... but
I digress from my digressions.
That's not true. Spock was a blue shirt. Only the red shirts get killed off.
Notice that he stood most of the time.
Actually, what I have found helps is to simply get up and walk somewhere. It does several things. It pumps blood so that circulation is maintained, oxygen gets to all parts including the brain, you burn off some of the calories from that Snickers bar you were munching on, strengthens the muscles, and reduces those fading out periods where you are at the desk but no one is home. If you are in an office, it keeps you from getting caught by the boss when you have that sleepy time come upon you and it gives you a chance to see and interact with others in the office, maybe catching some good ideas.
And it gives you a chance to walk past the galley and see if anyone has left any snacks in there before they announce it in email and you are too late to get any.
