It should be noted that many of the wiki products out there today have
strayed very far from the original vision of what a wiki is (not merely a
tool, but an open self-policing community). Many of them are really just a web CMS with the word Wiki on the box.
I once worked at a place that claimed to have a wiki, but really only one or two people could or would edit anything in it. It consisted mostly of random and incomplete items. Didn't help that the interface was totally unlike Wikipedia, and any changes to content had to be approved.
