Hi Sally,

The best tool I ever found to help me when tasked with this was a
website that is free and will be great help to you throughout the
entire process. The Elsmar Coves Forums.
http://elsmar.com/Forums/index.php
This site is run by a regulatory specialist and is a fantastic
site for getting information, obtaining examples from real life,
and for getting feedback on your work from experts in the field,
and all for free.

This task is usually given to ISO/Regulatory specialists. I
remember when I set up a document control system for one company,
the regulatory specialist tasked me with doing the research to
make sure all would be set up well. I had the standard, but there
are practical issues to implementation which make each one unique,
due to the nature of each individual company.

The Elsmar coves forums were an invaluable resource for me. For
you, any anyone dealing with ISO implementations, this is a one
stop site that will be your forever bookmarked resource.

I hope this is helpful to you!

Deborah

Well, folks. It's finally happened. After 20+ years in
startup enterprise
software companies, I have now been tasked with setting up a
Doc Control
system and helping to move the company toward ISO 9001
certification. I even
bought the standard

My list of questions is long but I'll see what the standard
answers before
I start pestering anyone with most of them. However, I am
interested in
what tool you experts use for your document control. I REALLY
want to use a
wiki. I've read of success stories. have any of you use a
wiki for this
purpose and survived an audit?

If anyone has a requirements list that you used to choose a
tool and that
you would be willing or able, I would be grateful. I'm
starting my list of
requirements but the timeline is short. Any assistance would
be welcome.
