However, according to my wife, who has been part of the credit union industry for over 40 years, you cannot even get a teller job without a college degree regardless of gender. With that said, upper management in either the banking industry or the credit union industry is primarily male. This is why she retired....got tired of fighting the status quo.

Bank tellers.

This profession used to be a professional one, and people used to be able to support their families in this line of work. Bank tellers now earn a lot less (usually $10-$15/hr), are often part time jobs with few benefits or job security, and may or may not be related to the fact that this once primarily male-dominated profession is now predominately a female profession (since WW2).
