Sorry, that was backwards: The colors in the graphic are changed, not
the colors in the Word elements. If I select the graphic after it's
inserted in Word and save it as a picture, the color is still FF8500.
But on the screen in the document, and also when printed to PDF, it's
lightened to F3912C. Either way, the colors in the Word elements stay at
FF8500.

Working in Word 2010, inserting a graphic and putting in a few Word
elements (borders, etc.) to match it - or so I thought. When I opened
the graphic in PSP and used the Dropper tool to pull the color that I
wanted, it measured as FF8500 (Red 255, Green 133, Blue 0). I added the
elements I wanted on the Word page near the graphic, using that same
color. They didn't seem to match on the screen, but I figured it was
just a display thing. Printed them on paper, and they still didn't look
right. So I printed to PDF and saved that as a PNG. When I opened the
PNG, the color in the graphic was still FF8500, but the Word elements,
as I suspected, were wrong; they showed up as F3912C (Red 243, Green
145, Blue 44).

This can't just be a problem of moving across multiple file types, since
the color in the graphic was preserved as FF8500 all the way through the
process. Any thoughts?

TIA,

Dan
