Damage. Good call.

Telatemp's products would be ideal if they covered -35 degrees Celsius
on the low side, and +150C on the high side.

As I mentioned to somebody off-list, I saw some years ago that were
little glass vials within vials, with calibrated fluids inside, meant
to either freeze at a certain low-temp value and crack the inner vial
(allowing the fluid to contact a color-change reagent in the outer vial),
or boil and crack the inner vial (or burst a plug), similarly allowing
the contents to reach a reagent that then changed color permanently.

Of course, I don't think they were terribly precise. Don't know if
they're still made. Don't know if they'd cover the desired temps, either.
Don't know what they were called, which would make Google a bit
friendlier. :-)
