Re: Post on Technical Writing vs. Technical Communication
I'd prefer not to start a Flame War:-), so Instead I'll ask a practical question.
If you were publishing an introductory book on this field, would you use Technical Writing or Technical Communication in the title?
For most situations, I think Technical Communication is the logical term, but for the title of an introductory book, I think Technical Writing is the better choice, because the intended audience of an introductory book is more likely to understand and feel comfortable with Technical Writing and is more likely to think Technical Communication signals either "something else" or a more advanced text.
But, I'm open to hearing alternate views (minus the flames:-).
