Adobe has decided to cling to the pipedream that every single one of their
users has unfettered access to the Internet and expanded the Internet only
activation requirement to just about all of the CS6 products. I just got
upgrade coupons for Illustrator, InDesign, and Production Premium. If I try
to install with the serial number that I legally licensed, the installer
bombs out attempting to silently connect to the internet. I had minor hopes
it would work, as the installers do detect the proxy and ask for
credentials, but alas no, it just sits and spins. The very worst, most
egregious part is Adobe forgot to put a cancel button on the installer so
you can't even shut the process down elegantly when it blows up.

Think you can get around it by installing the trial and then entering the
serial number, think again, entering the serial number does the same thing,
sit and watch as it just spins and spins and spins, never getting that
connection. Again, no cancel button.

BTW: I ran TCPview to see what it was doing. In both cases,Adobe is
attempting to get a silent connection for an app called PDapp.exe. It's
almost fun to run TCPview and watch it cycle through all available ports
and fail to get a connection.

How the hell did this get through beta testing?

Cheers
