cloud thusly:

I currently have a love/hate relationship with my legacy non-cloud version
of Author-It. No idea how it would work running from a browser. I do have
some problems with space on my MySQL server, so I could see an advantage of
getting more space via the cloud instead of whining to my Ops department
for more local space.

Presumably, you get to pay for this convenience, though...
