I've been happy with VirtualBox since 2009. It helps when I support
customers who use different software versions. One client was still on
Office 2003. The admin panel of our current CMS only works in IE7 or
8.
Copying VB backups to an external hard drive saved my butt when a
trojan infected my IE7 workstation. I just copied my backup on top of
the bad virtual machine and was back in business.
I also have a special Linux box with my virtual website development environment.
For windows variants, I side with Robert's use of Virtual PC,
especially on Windows 7 host systems.
