Adding to what the others have already listed:

I had one job where all the equipment drawings (various kinds of cable TV
and other types of communications network hardware) were done on a CAD
system that provided drawings with hairlines for everything. I used
CorelDraw to change the lines from hairlines to line weights (ranging from
about 0.5 pt to 2/0 pt) that would produce acceptable illustrations for
printing or be legible in an online PDF (which was how most manuals and
installation instructions were delivered.

But my experience goes back to when we drew sketches that were drawn by
pre-CAD draftsmen, where line weights and font size were specified based on
the size that a photo-reduced drawing would appear in a text document, Good
training for doing it all today.
