Karen Felker said, "We're designing in-house templates and running into a
problem with heading styles. We've designed Headings 1 and Heading 2, but it
seems that Word automatically gives us styles for Heading 3 and Heading 4.
We don't want Heading 3 or Heading 4, but we haven't found a way to make
them go away. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Karen:
Go to Format>Styles and Formatting. At the very bottom of the Style and
Formatting panel, there is a Show: field. Select custom. When the Format
Settings dialog displays, you can uncheck any styles you do not want to
appear in the active list of styles. I have Wood 2003 in front of me, but
once you get to the bottom of the Styles panel, the hidden dialogs are still
there in newer versions.
