And this is my objection to them.
All application interfaces are a compromise and a dictate on the quality
of the end work.

Frankly, I feel uncomfortable with that.
I also understand that is an individual choice to steer away from the
interface, but I think that more need to understand that it's one that
is there and available, as many seem to think that there is no more than
a choice between proprietary offerings.
That does nothing but gift market control and determine end product quality.
