If any of your customers are government, you can pretty much assume that sooner or later someone will print and bind your PDFs. Otherwise, my experience is that most users grumble about the fact that there's no printed manual, then open the PDF and either use it on the monitor or print out the specific pages they need while complaining about the lack of "real" documentation.
