Seeking driver CD (or its contents) for Canon Pixma ip1600

Hi gang--
My wife runs an after-school tutoring center. She has 7 computers and 4
printers, one of which is a recently-donated Canon Pixma ip1600 inkjet.
We want it to serve a Windows XP machine and a Windows 7 machine, which
are on a local network.
Plugging it into the Windows XP results in the computer finding and
setting up the driver for Windows XP.
Plugging it into the Window 7 results in that computer finding and setting
up the driver for Windows 7.
But I cannot connect it to one of them and tell the OTHER to print to it
-- on XP, if I tell it to print from Win7 it asks for a driver disc.
Likewise if I try it the other way.
There does not seem to be a way to get a driver direct from Canon (on the
web) for a Windows system different from the one on which the request is
made.
So, we'd like to obtain a copy of the CD that comes with a Canon Pixma
ip1600.....or another way to accomplish this cross-system print
functionality.
Can anyone help us out here?
Thanks,
Guy K. Haas
