I am all too familiar with the phenomenon of "upspeaking", but didn't know that was a common name for it.

So, I Googled and got this delight:

upspeaking
Web definitions
(Upspeak) The high rising terminal, also known as moronic interrogative, ...... (and I stopped reading there - no need for more)

Yes, "moronic interrogative" is a complete, and fully accurate, definition and designation.
I love it.
Persons using that speech pattern *deserve* all the scorn and disdain that will rightly be heaped upon them.

Oh, wait.... was that 'hate speech'? Are they considered an identifiable minority?
Tough. I am unrepentant.

I would love to shake the paw of, and buy a round for, the person who came up with the exquisite "moronic interrogative". Made my day.

[snip...]
The narrator should be able to articulate very clearly and have a pleasant voice that modulates well. No upspeaking, please! (Look that up.) Use a good set of closed-ear headphones for monitoring the audio; my $85 Sennheiser HD280 Pros connect directly to the Shure USB adapter.
