I'm creating a Word 2013 template for an engineering sales company. They
deal with a lot of measurements, so I'm thinking about how to to easily
insert ' and " for measurements instead of â and â.

I know that any user can choose *Insert* > *Symbol* and select ' or ", but
I'm wondering if any of you have been down this road before. I'm attempting
to streamline Word functions so that the sales folks can get on with
business, rather than concerning themselves with the nuances of type.

Maybe a macro? If yes, why would that be any simpler to use than the
*Insert* > *Symbol* method?

Or... is there a way to set Word up so that if a quote mark follows a
number, itâs converted to an inch or foot symbol, whereas it's a curly
quote mark when in a field of text?

How have you dealt with this?

Thanks
