Just wondering...

If reviewers don't want to/can't comment directly on the pdf, why can't you supply them with a Word doc, so they don't have to convert it?

If it's a question of the Word docs being too large to deliver by email (or whatever method you are using), why not use a file-sharing site like Dropbox ?

We have an odd problem here and if anyone has any ideas how to solve it, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

My coworkers take my PDF file and using Acrobat XI, export to Word. They then add their review comments and corrections and give me the docx file. When I open it, all the text is in capital letters. Ugh. We are both using Word 2010. My install is totally vanilla, no changes to any default settings.

If I open the word file before they comment it, the capitalization problem is not there. I notice that the title bar says Compatibility Mode, so I suspect that the word file exported by Acrobat is some earlier doc version than 2010. When they comment it and save it, it is now saved in Word 2010 format. Somehow something is changing.

I don't see this problem in any other word files that I deal with. If I open the file in Open Office, it doesn't have the capitalization problem.

Anyone have a clue what might be going on?

Fred
