TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
After sending off the email, I realized that I didn't provide enough information. I was a bit frustrated. Anyway, we are using Camtasia to show step-by-step directions for using some software. I've only ever had to do that kind of thing for me. I just wanted to gather some ideas to create a standard.
We'll be distributing the content by a link to the video.
Is there a better term than training video for what I'm doing?

Subject: RE: Writing Scripts for Training Videos
<html>
What is the scope of the script?
Dialog only? Dialog and blocking?
Who's going to be acting the script?
What is the final product?
As with any discipline, the tools do not make you proficient, but having the right tools can make tasks nicer to do.
