I'm hoping I'm picturing this correctly. Is this document pages of definitions such that:

Aaa1 - a piece that is ...
Abaa2 - items in the ...
Basss3 - method of using ...
etc.

If that is the case, what I would do, and probably no where near the simplest or cleanest, is this:

1. I'd select the entire group of definitions and copy into a blank document.
2. Use Find/Replace to change something in that group to a tab or a dash, such at you have
Basss3 (tab) method of using ...
3. Convert it to a table

At this point, you can sort and such in the table. Or if you prefer, you could copy the table to Excel and do your sorting there.

Unfortunately, I don't have Word 2010 loaded on this PC at home, so I can't do a quick check, but you may have the option in the Find/Replace to stay on ALL CAPS for the search item and then replace it with the item and a tab behind it.

The other option on inserting a tab or dash is to search for a carriage return (paragraph mark) and the next word. Replace it with a carriage return, the same word, and a tab.

You can use the search on language. Find/Replace, Format, Language.

If you have the definitions scattered through the document, then I hope you used a special style or paragraph format on each definition that you can search on.

150 page document. Bilingual definitions [Spanish and English].

The terms are in all caps and the definitions are styled with regular
sentence capitalization.

What I want to do:

Pull out only the capitalized words so that I'll have a nice list of the
1400 some terms. Then I'd like to do things with that list [separate out
the Spanish 700 from the English 700, alphabetize them, put in
Access/Excel, etc].

Advice?
