I agree with Gene. Your resume can begin with a summary of skills and
experience. If experience is too far in the past, it may be ignored.

My current resume (2 pages) begins with summary of skills and recent
accomplishments. Then, I have a concise chronology of my FT work experience
from before I went freelance.

The nice part about being a freelancer is I have worked with so many
clients. I cherry pick successes most relevant to the opportunity.
