I was able to resolve my problem, thanks.
Since it was a 900+ page document, the first thing I did was to to whack
rogue styles, and get rid of unneeded page breaks and section breaks. I'll
keep the "new style Maggie" fix in mind for the next huge document. Thanks
for your help!
