There will always be a need to communicate complex information from people who have it to those who don't. The form of that communication may change, but the need will never go away. You should keep abreast of new technologies, techniques, and tools and find a way to gain experience in those that you - and the industry - feel are most effective and efficient.
It may be words, pictures, animations, videos, holographs, or RNA memory injections, but it will be something.
