TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Craig Cardimon asked: "Which technical writing groups on LinkedIn do you
recommend and follow?"

I belong to several STC groups, the main Society of Technical Communication,
STC Atlanta, the Lone Writers, Technical Editors, Consultants and
Independent Contractors, and the Accessibility SIG. Non-StC groups that are
usually active and interesting that I follow include Technical Writer in
Action, Documentation and Technical Writing Management, Technical Writer
Forum, and Technical Writing and Content Management. There is even a group
called Technical Writers Sharing MS Word Tips, but it is not very active.
Interestingly enough, the IT Tech Writers group that is affiliated with
TechWhirl seems to have more spam get rich quick messages than any of the
others.
