As I see it, we are feuding amongst ourselves as to whether we are "technical writers" or "technical communicators," correct?

I complained loudly when STC expunged the terms "technical writer" and "technical writing" from its website in favor of "technical communicator" and "technical communication". All because a vocal contingent among the membership felt that "technical writer" and "technical writing" were too limiting in representing all of the voodoo that we do. The whole world searches for "technical writer"or "technical writing" and they effectively took the organization out of the search results for those terms. That was several years ago and I don't know if they've seen the error of their ways.

Best Regards,

Mike
