My wife and I both upgraded our laptops some months ago. We're good so far.

Unfortunately, my response to this is "Wait and see". My installation and first month was painless, then some nasties started waving their heads around.

Michael,
I upgraded my Windows 8.1 laptop to Windows 10 when the offer came around.
Why? Because I want to be able to say I have experience with 10.
The upgrade itself was painless. No problems at all. The only small oddity is that the function to Hide Desktop doesn't work very well. The icons insist upon appearing. I can live with that.
Windows 8 was a disaster. Windows 8.1 was a dramatic improvement. I have no issues at all with Windows 10.

To all:
I apologize if this is off-topic for the group, but I feel impelled to ask the question. What have your experiences been with upgrading a PC to Windows 10? Are the benefits worth the changes?
BTW, I'm currently using Windows 8.1 on a machine with a "4th generation
...i5-4430 processor," 12GB DDR3 RAM, and a 2TB hard drive, so I have no doubt the hardware can handle the upgrade.
Thanks!
