LibreOffice is under more active development, with regular releases. It is
also built on the original OpenOffice code. It's not exactly transformative
in the way you complete productivity tasks, but it's a fine office suite.

OpenOffice (now managed by the Apache Software Foundation) is still
updating, but nowhere near as often.
