TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Well, I donât think that anyone who reads Steveâs comment is going to assume that he is in any way representative of the tech writing profession as a whole. Its just so over-the-top; people can spot an on-line troll when they see one, and will dismiss them accordingly.
I, who rarely post here and almost never do social media of any type, came very close to leaving a comment about this wonderful article apologizing for the comment of another technical writer. It taints us all.
It was a wonderful informative article on digital typesetting; I learned a lot and was amused. Also, the writer did something crucial to good technical writing--he knows his audience and wrote to meet their assumptions, knowledge, and understanding.

I hadn't actually read Steve's comment on that site until just now.
I agree with Tony... Steve your comment was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Aside from the abusive language and arrogant tone, to start a critique by saying you didn't even read the article past the first sentence... just... wow.
